Children’s Theatre of Hampton Roads' objective is to develop original, interactive, imaginative experiences that are affordable, accessible, and memorable to audiences of all ages.
Our Story
Our Story
Children’s Theatre of Hampton Roads is a professional troupe of adult actors that has been providing the region with affordable family entertainment since 2005. In addition to regularly scheduled performances in Hampton Roads, CTHR also tours with a variety of programming, offering an opportunity for audiences throughout central and southeast Virginia to come together and enjoy interactive shows that will rouse laughter as well as touch the heart.
CTHR’s staff of skilled performers write, direct, and provide the technical aspects for each original production, making the company a distinctive addition to the Hampton Roads cultural community. From innovative adaptations of classic tales to delightfully inventive new stories, children and adults alike can rediscover again and again the joys of live theatre.
In January, 2016, The Barry Robinson Theater and Fine Arts Center became home to CTHR.
