At
Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School,
the Theatre Company is our after-school
theater program for CHS students. The
Company is separate from drama class;
however, the philosophy is much the
same. It is based on discipline and
teaches the skills necessary to produce
serious performance art and is open
to any CHS student that auditions for
a show and is offered a role.
Usually, the
Company produces
two shows a
year, one in
the fall and
one in the
spring. Students,
if offered
roles in both
shows, will
find themselves
acting in one
classical piece
and one modern
piece of theater
each year.
The purpose
of the Company
is not only
to teach students
the basics
of theatrical
productions
but also to
take them on
a journey of
self-discovery.
To be accepted
into the Company
takes commitment,
vision, creativity,
respect, positive
attitude, focus,
and talent.
All aspects
of the producing
a show are
hands-on and
actors will
be expected
to help in
all aspects
of production
from acting
to set construction
and from lighting
and sound to
publicity.
Being a part
of CHS Theatre
Company is
being part
of a dramatic
troupe that
is dedicated
to the creation
of theatre
as an art form.
If this sounds
interesting
to you, pick
up some audition
material and
lend us your
voice. The
opportunities
are endless.
