Benvenuti!! Italian for Beginners
Ciao, my name is Giuseppina Hazen. I am from
Catania, Italy; I attended the Università degli
studi di Catania and
earned a B.A. and M.A. in Foreign Languages
and Literatures. I am currently an Instructor
at Old Dominion University,
and I am also in pursuit of a second M.A.
in Secondary Education.
Are you planning a trip to Italy and would
like to be able to communicate or are you
simply interested in the Italian
language and/or culture? With much emphasis
on conversation and necessary notions of
grammar, the aim of the
course is to build up linguistic and communicative
skills and to explore cultural subjects.
Bellissimo! The class will
consist of eight sessions; at the end of
each session you will be able to talk with
confidence about a specific theme
covered during the evening, such as directions,
sightseeing, eating, shopping and more. You
will also learn a little bit
more about the Italian culture and lifestyle.
Don’t miss this great opportunity!!!

Yoga for Stress Relief – Beginner
- Advanced
Arianna Gallagher, the director of Chesapeake
Hot Yoga, will be offering yoga classes on
the BRTFAC
stage, teaching the physical science of yoga.
Her individualized training will allow for
any level of yoga
knowledge from beginner to advanced students.
Yoga has been proven to work every system
in your
body and stimulate every organ, gland, and
muscle. Build strength, flexibility, balance,
and endurance
while helping with weight loss, promoting
better sleep, and serving as a stress reliever.
Arianna first
learned yoga in Japan in the early 1990’s
and went on to be trained as a yoga instructor
from Bikram
Choudary in Beverly Hills in 1995. She went
on to refine her skills with the famous BKS
lyengar in India.
She now lives in Chesapeake and we are lucky
to have her pass on her knowledge to you.
